Yair Barak
Yair Barak (b.1973, Hod HaSharon; lives and works in Tel Aviv) graduated (cum laude) from the Camera Obscura School of Art, Tel Aviv, and studied for an MFA at Bard College, New York. He is also a curator and writer.
Barak’s work has featured in solo exhibitions, including at the Mishkan Museum of Art, Ein Harod; Herzliya Artists’ Residence; Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art; Julie M. Gallery, Tel Aviv; Tel Aviv Museum of Art; Gowen Contemporary, Geneva. He has also participated in group exhibitions, including at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art; Kunstverein Familie Montez, Frankfurt; Atelier Shemi, Kibbutz Cabri; Ashdod Museum of Art; Winston Wächter Gallery, Seattle, USA; Garment District Arts Festival, New York, USA; Blue Hour, Gowen Contemporary, Geneva; and Haifa Museum of Art. He is the recipient of the Israeli Ministry of Culture Award; the America–Israel Fund grant; the Outset Contemporary Art Fund grant; the Israeli Lottery Grant; and the Ostrovsky Family Fund for Cinema and Video.
