Orit Fuchs
Orit Fuchs (b. 1970; lives and works in Jaffa) is an autodidactic artist. Her work was featured in solo exhibitions, including at the Guy Hepner Gallery, New York; L&G Projects,La Jolla, San Diego, California; Maune Gallery, Santa Barbara, California; and Mayson Gallery, New York.
Fuchs is a storyteller at heart, with a deep and unquenchable appetite for bringing her vision to life through various mediums such as sculptures, painting, typography, illustration, knitting, Video, photography, and more. With her former experience as an art director for some of Israel's top agencies, Fuchs has a firm grasp on pop culture and gender roles in contemporary society. These serve as a natural backdrop against which her imagination unfurls, allowing her to capture glimpses from wondrous perspectives. Her understanding of the human psyche and her fierce talent culminate in moving work that takes place somewhere in between fiction and reality.
