Natalia Zourabova (b. 1975, Moscow, immigrated to Israel in 2004; lives and works in Tel Aviv) studied at the Russian Academy of Theater Art in Moscow and at the University of Arts, Berlin. In 2011, Zourabova co-founded the New Barbizon Artist Collective with four other women painters. Zourabova is primarily a figurative painter. She paints scenes that she knows intimately—often groups of people or individuals she knows, city streets in her Jaffa neighborhood, or familiar interiors. Color is central to her work. Her palette and the mood of her paintings range from naturalistic to absurd, and her paintings span the spectrum from realism to abstraction. Photos courtesy of Natalia Zourabova studio.
